Frequently Asked Questions

How easy is it to install POMPA™?

The installation of POMPA™ is straight forward. It is best installed when the ground is dry and not under water but it can still be installed in any condition.

Key instructions:

  • Locate POMPA™ no further than 10m away from a standard 3 pin 230-240v plug.
  • Simply dig a hole 500mm length x 400mm width and 450mm depth to allow the POMPA™ box to be installed below ground level.
  • Attach the discharge 1” water pipe to the outlet fitting of the POMPA™ and run the pipe to the nominated drainage area.

A full installation and instruction manual is provided with the unit.

Do I need planning permission to have POMPA™ installed in my garden?

No planning permission is required to install the unit. You can install water, ground and air source heat pumps without the need to apply for planning permission.

Where does the water I pump go to?

The rain water or stormwater is pumped to the main drainage system around your property.
Alternative methods are to pump the rain or stormwater away to a designated “safe” area to remove the surface water flooding, eg. pump the water to the top of a hill towards a river soak away.

Installations have been successful for both commercial and non commercial units using the pump away method, eg. flooded golf course area where rain water was pumped to a different part of the course towards the main drains.

Does POMPA™ have a warranty or guarantee?

The POMPA™ pump comes with a 2 year guarantee.

The warranty conditions issued by our relevant sales company apply in all countries. We shall remedy possible malfunctions on your appliance within the warranty period free of cost, provided that a material or manufacturing defect is the cause.

The manufacturer accepts no liability for possible damage caused by improper use, incorrect operation, power or product failure.

Where is the best place to site my new POMPA™?

The best installation place to site the new unit is at the lowest, key point of the flooded area. It is key to install the unit where the pump will be able to function during the water table raising prior to the flood water rising to the ground level.

Critical installation points can be found on the areas you are trying to protect. So if, for example, your garage floods, install the POMPA™ unit outside the garage at the lowest point known.

We do suggest the “Plan” and not “Panic” method of installation. If you know an area floods, install POMPA™ prior to any rising flood waters and plan the installation.
